Hey :)

So recently my PC broke down and now i am forced to play on a laptop. I installed L4D2, Portal 1 & 2, TF2 and CS:GO.

No Source engine game works. Except for TF2!

After the "Preparing to launch" screen, it shows me as in-game in the friendslist for about 2-3 seconds. Then nothing. I am back to "online" and the game doesn't launch at all.

I am also 100% sure this laptop can easily run these games.

Help, please. :)

Try verifying the integrity of the game cache for each game that has the problem.

Already done that. Also deleted and redownloaded "clientregistry.blob" and reinstalled the games (and steam).

Really? Strange...that usually fixes it. Are your drivers all up to date? Although it doesn't always cause the issue you are having, there have been cases where outdated drivers have caused a computer to behave erratically with certain games or programs. I'd say to check and make sure everything is up to date in terms of your drivers, and if everything is up to date, contact Steam Support and see what they can do to help.

    Right, I need a hammer.

Seriously, seems your computer may be rejecting the games so to say. By that I mean some program might be conflicted/ing with steam and stopping you games to load up properly.

drivers are all up to date. And what program would that be. TF2 works like a charm.

Turn off any Steam Beta that might be going on. That could fix it.
