Making a pokemon source mod

What do I need?

By casemods 3 years ago

Ok so instead of hoping and waiting for someone to make a 3d pokemon RPG game, I've decided to make my own.

Based off CS:S, ASH will be easily skinned for started, as well as the pokeball for the nade.

Pokemon weapons will be replaced by pokemon skins - which also make it easy to change the damage done by them (which will be used by the RPGmod on CS:S)

What do I need to do this?

Will it be legal for me to create a free game named "pokemon" ?

I am making this only for fun for the pokemon community - but no more than 151 pokemon - after that, I did not enjoy the game.

Where can I create a mod/mod team page for people to join and what not?

To create a mod / studio and to recruit people go to the front page of fpsbanana and scroll down. On the right side of the page you should see studios if you click "add studio" you can create your own studio / mod and when you have created it can post help wanted requests then others can see and they might join you if they like the concept. Be sure to post some good solid concepts down so that people get interested, a blank studio / mod page is always sure to be 'unnatractive' to potential coders / mappers and so on :D

Good luck with this, hope you succeed alex.

Sorry but I doubt you'll go very far with this. You're obviously just an "idea guy", and those rarely get anywhere. You have to develop a skill and get good at it, then show off what you've already done for your mod to people before the take you seriously.

This used to be a mod in the works, and it looked really impressive, and I'm pretty sure it hasn't gone anywhere since... Most mods never do. Have fun though.

So you're saying this is just a bunch of skins+models, with some rpg powery things? I know that 'super hero' mod has a pikachu class, it's got a few electic attacks all with particles and whatnot. Could be fun.

The new pokemons are all ghey, after the first set they all went down hill. The originals will never be 'out' xD

Just normal CS:S/HL2/HL2:DM like maps. Nothing fancy.

It would be a simple CS:S mod basically.

This! I hate any pokemon after 151. Maybe a couple more were ok.

I just know that "mudkips" and all those guys are so lame and fake and pokemon went to crap after they tried to suck every penny they could out.

    Also.

    To clear up my idea:

    Just take CS:S.

Mod the weapons down to the ground instead of on the player.

Nade will be changed to pokeball..then some sort of flash (not hard to change from the nade flash)

Pokemon comes out (will be a choice from the drop down menu like the guns in HL2DM and possibly CS:S (can't remember)

Since it's still just a gun that is re-skinned, you have 2 firing options.

OF coarse, this is all just ideas and can be changed if possible.

I'm just thinking as easy as possible because I have know idea how to do any of this...

Just implement the RPG mod in CS:S for the power if needed, although I don't like RPG mode in CS:S, but it's just another idea.
